It’s Been Almost 7 Years

by Enzo Tacadao

How swiftly time flies when you’re immersed in the journey of life. Looking back, it’s been close to seven years since my fingertips danced across this blog’s virtual pages. Many chapters have unfolded, stories were written, and memories etched. Adulting, as they say, happened. So here’s a snapshot of the whirlwind that these years have been.

Adulting Happened

Oh, how naïve I was to think that becoming an adult meant just landing a job and paying bills. The past seven years have been filled with a medley of celebrations, challenges, and transformations. It’s about time I let you all in.

I Changed Jobs

Back in 2017, when my fingers last danced on this keyboard for a blog entry, I was with Summit Media. Creating content for their myriad of popular lifestyle websites was both a thrill and a challenge. But by mid-2018, VYBRNT, an Australian marketing automation firm, extended an opportunity too irresistible to pass up. Now, as an Email and Marketing Automation Specialist, I collaborate with a remote team whose synergy is off the charts.

Rose and I Got Married

After orbiting around each other for nine stellar years, Rose and I exchanged our vows on February 17, 2018. The picturesque Tanay, Rizal, a testament to our numerous road adventures, stood witness. Our union was blessed at the St. Jude Thaddeus Parish, followed by a joyous reception at Martessem Mountain Resort. As family and friends encircled us with warmth, we danced the night away, marking a beautiful beginning.

We Went to the Sahara

Fast forward to our first wedding anniversary, Rose and I found ourselves soaking in the wonders of Morocco. The kaleidoscope of Marrakech, Chefchaouen, Casablanca, the ethereal Sahara Desert, and Ifran painted our belated honeymoon. Yet, an unexpected overnight escapade in Bahrain, thanks to a flight delay, added a touch of serendipity to our journey.

Alon Was Born

On 2/2/2020 at 8:08 AM, we were blessed with the arrival of Alon Ruiz, a bundle of joy who brought sunshine into our lives. Inspired by our shared love for beaches and in honor of St. Lorenzo Ruiz, our son’s name is a testament to our combined legacies. The initial days of parenthood tested us, but seeing Rose evolve into a formidable mother and witnessing Alon’s milestones was heartwarming.

Then COVID-19 Happened

The pandemic, with its uncertainties, descended soon after Alon’s arrival. We were thankful for our space and the privilege to isolate safely. The hardest part was seeing Alon deprived of typical childhood social interactions. On the bright side, working from home allowed us to bond and create memories as a young family.

We Bought a House

Amidst the global upheavals, we took our biggest leap of faith in 2018—securing a home in Manna East, Teresa. Though currently under construction, our dreams are slowly taking shape, brick by brick.

Post-Lockdown Adventures

The lifting clouds of lockdown saw our trio embarking on adventures anew, tracing paths across Rizal, Vigan City, Pampanga, Negros Occidental, Boracay, Baguio City, Laguna, and Quezon. And as the cherry on top? A Japanese escapade, marking Alon’s first international footprint.

Alon Is Now 3 and Has Started School

Time, as they say, flies. From cradling him in our arms to watching him don his school bag, our boy Alon’s journey to nursery this August tugged at our heartstrings.

Relocating to Another Country

A significant life change looms ahead. We’re preparing to relocate internationally, a decision pulsating with excitement and anticipation. Stay tuned, as there’s much to reveal.

Tracing back through the pages of this blog, waves of nostalgia wash over me. The milestones, the highs, the love – they illuminate our shared journey. As we cast our gaze forward, hope and excitement fuel our dreams. Here’s to weaving more tales, and yes, more regular updates on this virtual space. Cheers to the future!
